Salesforce Opportunities
Your pipeline tells a story. Deals stall, stages slip, close dates shift, and amounts get revised before anyone flags it in a meeting. WorkSights brings Opportunity activity into the timeline as it happens, so revenue leaders can see how the pipeline is actually moving without waiting for a pipeline review or chasing a rep for a status update.
For connection steps and an overview of how Salesforce activity works, see Salesforce Integration Overview.
How Opportunity Activity Appears
Opportunity creation appears with the account and opportunity name in the breadcrumb:
- ABC Inc > ABC Inc - Q4 Enterprise > Opportunity created
The detail shows name, stage, amount, and close date at the moment of creation.
Stage transitions get a dedicated title format that makes pipeline movement immediately readable:
- Acme Corp - Q3 Retainer → Proposal/Price Quote
The detail shows which fields changed alongside the stage: Probability, Expected Revenue, and Last Stage Change Date.
Field updates appear when tracked fields change on an opportunity:
- Updated Opportunity: ABC Inc - Q4 Enterprise
The detail lists which fields changed and their new values. If multiple fields change within 10 minutes, WorkSights consolidates them into a single activity rather than creating one entry per field.
Opportunity activities appear in the Calendar Activity category.
What WorkSights Receives
Opportunity creation and field updates arrive within seconds for real-time changes. Field history updates, including stage changes, amount revisions, and close date shifts, appear within 10 minutes.
Salesforce tracks a high-signal set of opportunity fields by default: Stage, Amount, Probability, Close Date, and Owner. WorkSights surfaces all of them automatically. If your Salesforce admin has enabled tracking on additional fields, those appear too.
WorkSights backfills 30 days of opportunity history on first connection. Salesforce retains up to 18 months depending on your edition. If your team needs activity from further back, contact support via in-app chat with the time range you need.
What Is Not Captured
Field history tracking must be enabled per field in Salesforce for those changes to appear in WorkSights. If a field change is not appearing, go to Setup → Object Manager → Opportunity → Fields & Relationships → Set History Tracking and confirm the field is checked.
Opportunity changes triggered by automation or system processes are excluded. Only activity from mapped Salesforce users appears on the timeline.
