Salesforce Leads
Leads are the starting point of your sales pipeline: a prospect before they become an account, a contact, or an opportunity. Tracking how leads move through the qualification process gives revenue teams early visibility into pipeline health, before deals are even created. WorkSights captures lead creation and status changes, so the full lifecycle from first contact to conversion is visible on the timeline.
For connection steps and an overview of how Salesforce activity works, see Salesforce Integration Overview.
How Lead Activity Appears
Lead activity appears within 10 minutes of the change in Salesforce.
Lead creation appears on the timeline when a new lead record is created by a mapped user.
Status changes and field updates appear when tracked fields change on a lead record. Lead status and owner are tracked by default, so transitions across the lead lifecycle appear automatically:
- Updated Lead: Charlotte Webb
The detail shows which fields changed, for example: Salesforce Lead update / Status: Working - Contacted.
What WorkSights Receives
Lead creation and updates appear within 10 minutes via the polling sweep. Salesforce tracks lead status and owner changes out of the box, so the full lead lifecycle is observable from creation through to conversion without any additional configuration.
When a lead converts, the resulting contact, account, and opportunity are all covered by their respective WorkSights features. The conversion itself is visible through the activity that follows: a new contact appearing, an opportunity created, a task logged. The lead lifecycle and what it spawns are both on the timeline.
WorkSights backfills 30 days of lead history on first connection. If your team needs activity from further back, contact support via in-app chat with the time range you need.
What Is Not Captured
Lead deletions are not currently captured. Only creation and update events appear on the timeline.
Field changes to fields not enabled for history tracking in Salesforce will not appear. Go to Setup → Object Manager → Lead → Fields & Relationships → Set History Tracking to review and extend what is tracked.
