Rocketlane Setup

This guide walks through connecting Rocketlane to ClientSights. You will need an admin-level API key from your Rocketlane account. The connection takes around two minutes to complete.

Connecting Rocketlane

Step 1: Generate an API Key

In your Rocketlane account, navigate to Settings → API in the Developer Console. Generate a new API key. The key inherits the permissions of the user who creates it, so use an account with admin-level access to ensure ClientSights can read all projects, phases, tasks, and time entries across your organization.

Copy the key before moving to the next step.

Step 2: Connect in ClientSights

In ClientSights, go to Settings → Services and select Rocketlane. Paste your API key into the connection form and click Connect.

ClientSights will validate the key and set the connection name automatically from your Rocketlane company name. Once validated, the connection is established immediately.

What Happens Next

ClientSights imports the last 7 days of time entries as an initial backfill, giving your team’s timeline an immediate starting point. After that, ClientSights polls your Rocketlane account every 15 minutes for new and updated entries. Activity appears on the timeline as time is logged in Rocketlane with no additional setup required on the Rocketlane side.

One API key connects your entire Rocketlane account. If your organization uses multiple Rocketlane accounts, add a separate connection for each one.
